Today is a beautiful day in Holland. There is sunshine, white clouds, grey clouds and showers and a little bit of wind. I like that, it is adventurous weather! But not too adventurous, not the kind of weather that tosses my ears and makes my fur stand up in the wind. I like that weather too, but it is more tiring. Weather like this:
So the weather today is fine and so is the morning. I am not a morning person, I told you before, but that does not mean I do not like to go out in the morning. I love to go out in the morning, to do a lazy walk, sniff the air, enjoy the wet grass under my slender feet. I am totally happy, I just do not feel like playing with other dogs in the morning, that’s all.
Just in front of our house is a nice area with water and grass and little trees, where I can stroll at leasure. Sometimes I chase ducks and then I run, but most of the times I just potter around, investigating.
Like I did this morning. When we came back we had breakfast and now I am snoozing in my favorite chair. We will go on a longer walk later in the day, I am sure. M is busy writing a new story, a thriller for another customer, the second one she is writing. She is happy and so am I. Although I would never want to write a book, it is way too long and therefore too much work. Blogging is perfect for me.
Humans tend to think too much. Because of this, they can’t see things as they really are and they create problems, problems that in reality do not exist (they only exist in the human mind). Take the weather. Yesterday it was pouring with rain. Humans do not like that, they complain about it and say grumpy things. I do not get it. Maybe when one human complains to another human that human will alter his behaviour, but with the weather this is not possible. It won’t change because humans complain about it. So why bother?
Besides, by thinking about the weather as a problem humans make it too hard for themselves. We have to go out anyway, you know. So stop wasting energy on complaining and just go out there and enjoy the moment. Because if you do, you will experience it is fun, no matter what the weather is like. Yes you will get wet, so what? That is not such a big deal, is it?
Humans also have a lot of words to describe the weather. Most of them puzzle me. Like this one: ‘it is raining cats and dogs’. Well, I’ve never experienced that. It would be awesome, though, especially the part concerning the cats!
We just returned from our daily walk. We went to the dunes and the forest. We go there almost every day, so you could say this is nothing special. But to me it is always special.
Every day is different, you know. It smells different, it feels different. Sometimes we have sun, sometimes rain or storm. Or all of them in one walk (those are the best). We might encounter a fox, or a bunch of rabbits. You never know for certain and that makes every walk a little adventure. Not a big one, like going on a holiday and hiking in the mountains, of course not. That is a different category. But I like these little adventures too. Maybe even more, because we can have them every day.
