A beautiful morning

Today is a beautiful day in Holland. There is sunshine, white clouds, grey clouds and showers and a little bit of wind. I like that, it is adventurous weather! But not too adventurous, not the kind of weather that tosses my ears and makes my fur stand up in the wind. I like that weather too, but it is more tiring. Weather like this:

Kind of wet

So the weather today is fine and so is the morning. I am not a morning person, I told you before, but that does not mean I do not like to go out in the morning. I love to go out in the morning, to do a lazy walk, sniff the air, enjoy the wet grass under my slender feet. I am totally happy, I just do not feel like playing with other dogs in the morning, that’s all.

Just in front of our house is a nice area with water and grass and little trees, where I can stroll at leasure. Sometimes I chase ducks and then I run, but most of the times I just potter around, investigating.

On the lookout

Like I did this morning. When we came back we had breakfast and now I am snoozing in my favorite chair. We will go on a longer walk later in the day, I am sure. M is busy writing a new story, a thriller for another customer, the second one she is writing. She is happy and so am I. Although I would never want to write a book, it is way too long and therefore too much work. Blogging is perfect for me.

Not a morning dog

Most of the dogs in my neighborhood know this by now: I am not sociable in the morning. Humans say they are ‘not a morning person’ – I am not a morning dog. When I wake up, there is only one thing on my mind: I want to go to the toilet and that’s it.  After that I want food and then I go back to bed again.

So when we go out in the morning, usually I go out with P because M is not a morning person either, I do just that: look for some grass that is suitable to be my toilet. When I meet another dog who wants to sniff me or play with me, I growl. When the other dog persists (some can be such mutts) I snap.

When M gets out of bed, she needs coffee before one can speak to her. I think that would be good for me, too. I think I would be much more friendly if I could have a coffee too. Besides, I am from Greece. All Greeks drink a cup of dark and muddy coffee when they wake up. So why not me? It is not fair that M and P refuse to give me coffee, saying it is not healthy for dogs. Since they persist, they will have to cope with my morning moods. And so do all the dogs in my neighborhood.
