I just got home from a holiday with my personal trainer Nicoline and her pack of bandidos. It was good! It was a bit disappointing that M and P went on a holiday without me, again, but well. I have a positive attitude, I won’t hold it against them since they arranged a holiday for me as well. This time this was our pack, the core of it – it extends when Nicoline picks up some more bandidos. She is a dog walker too, you know. The gorgeous looking guy next to me is Boss, my favorite boyfriend.
I did not mind posing for the picture, but I did mind that we were sitting on a very nice doggy bed – the one I had picked as mine during this particular holiday. So when the photo shoot was over, I claimed it once again.
By the way: we did not travel in the usual dog walker van to the beach, but in a campervan, like I told you in my previous post. Of course I sat on the front seat, next to Nicoline, while all the rest of the pack had to sit behind us, on the floor. Nice.
In my previous post I mentioned that I had a serious conversation with my friend, Jip. This is what it looked like:
Some of my friends who weren’t there when this happened ask me what this was all about. What were we saying? Well, it was something like this:
“You are a mean bitch!”
“You are a mean bitch!”
“Yes I am!”
“You are right, you are a mean bitch!”
“Ha! We both are mean bitches!”
“We are two mean bitches!”
“Okay. That’s settled, then.”
“Yes it is.”
“Let’s have some fun!”
And that is what we had, with the rest of our pack:
I am back! I had a wonderful holiday with Nicoline and her pack of bandidos. The holiday was all-inclusive: food, snacks, beverages, a cosy place to sleep, a full activity program and lots of friends – all arranged for me! Awesome.
We went to the beach for hours:
I made new friends:
And settled old grudges with old friends:
No, I am not kidding, we are truly friends! We just needed to talk something through. Thoroughly.
After that, we had great fun together.
It was a very nice holiday. But I am glad to be back home with M and P. I have time to blog again! I hope you all had a good beginning of the new year as well. For me, this must become a wonderful year, starting this way.
This new year started with a surprise for me. A not so good and a good surprise in one: M and P packed their bags and have gone on a holiday, without me. Not so good. I went to Nicoline to have my own holiday. Good.
You can see I have mixed feelings about this. But, as a dog, I usually think positive. You know me: always on the bright side. And I think my own holiday will turn out fine. Because I am not only with Nicoline, but with my favorite pack, too! The Bandidos! Boss is here, and Stitch and Swiff and a lot of other rough friends. We will have loads of fun. Chasing each other on the beach and all that.
You won’t hear from me for some time, because being with the Bandidos is hard work. There won’t be any time for quiet writing. Sorry about that! I will tell you all about my adventures later. So long!
I notice that during these days a lot of humans look back at the past year. We dogs normally don’t do that: we do not muse about the past, we do not dream about the future, we are always and totally living in the present. But I can make an exception for my human readers. Actually, it is quite nice to look back on the last year! If it was a good year, that is.
My year was certainly a good one! I made some great new friends:
We did a lot of nice long walks:
We had awesome holidays, in the mountains and near the sea!
There was plenty of time to snooze in the sun:
And new culinary experiences:
Yes, it was a good year. I hope you had a splendid year, too!
We are home again! The holiday was awesome, but I am glad to be in my own house again. Happily everything looks all right here, Boss did a good job guarding my place. Thank you, Boss!
I am happy to be home again, but I am a bit upset too. Because as soon as we arrived in Holland, M drove me to the doctor and they dressed me up in a most peculiar fashion item.
M tells me I have to wear this because of my most recent adventure. On one of our last days in Austria we were hiking in a place with lots of mountain cats. They are big and fat and they make a fantastic noise when they see you approaching. They are great for chasing and there were lots of them! I could not resist the temptation, of course (why should I? Temptations are not meant to resist) so I ran after them. There was one particularly big one waiting for me:
I did not like his look, so I chased him – hard. However he ran into a hole, the coward. I am too big for these holes, so I had to give up chasing. Then, when I returned to M and P, I got attacked by some invisible defence mechanism! I was taken by surprise, I must admit. These mountain cats must be more clever than they look, if they can make that kind of equipment.
I jumped and managed to get rid of this mechanism, but I did hurt my leg. And that is why I have to wear this odd looking item now, M tells me. When my leg is healed, they will take it off. I hope it will heal soon. I feel a bit awkward with this thing around my head.
Sometimes you find friends where you least expect them. We were hiking in the mountains (we are still in Austria) and we came to a very pretty spot:
We walked to the hut and the lake and there was a dog waiting for me! She was energetic and friendly, so we started playing.
She lives at the hut near the lake, she has an awesome life. Just imagine: living in a hut high up in the mountains, roaming free all day, hunting animals and swimming when you feel like it! She showed me the best parts of the water to play in and we chased each other through the muddy juicy grass.
It was great. After a while M told me we had to go, so I stopped our play and joined M on our walk back to the campsite. My new friend saw us off. Goodbye, mountain dog! It was nice to meet you.
We are still in the mountains and that is making me very happy. I love the smells, the pure air, the views, the juicy grass, the clear water in all the little streams. We take long walks every day. This is happy healthy living to the max! Mountain bliss.
We moved again and now we are in Austria! There are still mountains here, which is great. I love mountains. We walk a lot and on one of these walks we passed the Italian border, M told me. So we went to Italy and back in one minute. This is M, standing on what is called a border stone. The Ö means that side is Austria, on the other side there was an I (this doesn’t make sense to me, but apparently humans understand).
Anyway, I don’t care about borders, but I am interested in the culinary traditions of the countries I visit. Italy is pizza country, as everyone knows. Croatia is squid territory, in Slovenia I tasted delicious ham and sausages and Austria turns out to be cheese country! M and P bought a lot of cheese in a little village we visited and they shared it with me. I think I really like this country, too!
I thought we were having a lazy holiday, lying in the sun and all that, but it turns out to be an active one, too! We moved from Croatia to Slovenia. It is cooler here and there are mountains! And a huge lake. M tells me it is called the lake of Bohinj. She says I was here earlier, two years ago on our first holiday together. It is a very pretty spot.
It is a place to have really cool Adventures. We made a nice walk in the dense woods surrounding the lake. It was quite adventurous, as you can see. M and P had to climb over obstacles like this – no problem for me of course, I just jump over them. And I wait politely for M and P to follow me.
We also explored the lake and its small beaches by canoe! I love to travel in a canoe, I did it before, you know. I am totally relaxed on the water. I just jump in and scan the surroundings for ducks and dangers, while M and P are splashing our way over the deep waters. It was splendid.
