New friends

I was with Nicoline again, for one day. You know, the Dutch dog whisperer I told you about earlier? It was great! We went to the forest and to the beach. I made some new friends:

Nicoline 1

I really enjoyed myself. I thought the day was wonderful already, but the real surprise came at Nicoline’s place, where we went the late afternoon. In her garden I met this:

Nicoline 2

Yes, it is a dog, I smelled that all right. But a strange dog, truly! She has the legs of a small dog, but the body of a good solid one. Something odd happened to her nose, so it seems, and she is making funny noises because of that.  Anyway, she is to-ta-lly cool.

She has great personality. We played for hours and she, although small and still young, never gave up. She came bouncing back to me. I love bouncing! It was awesome.

Totems

I just received a very cool picture of me and my friends. It was made some time ago, by Nicoline, my personal trainer. You know, the Dutch Dog Whisperer I told you about earlier.

Friends

In this picture, you see my friends and Nicoline’s own dog, Fiesta. She is the shepherd dog on the left. Fiesta is no longer with us, at least, not in her old, physical form. Humans don’t seem to notice, but we dogs do – of course! Our senses are so much better. If your deceased dog was truly your friend, he or she is still with you, looking after you. If you weren’t good to your dog, he probably is with you too and causing you a lot of distress. In case you are wondering where the hell all this misery is coming from all of sudden – now you know why!

Fiesta was a grand dog and she really loved Nicoline. And vice versa. I think she will do some good things to Nicoline in the coming years. Like… making her win the biggest price in a contest (a living rabbit!) and having the sun shining when she goes out. Important things like that.

Me and Fiesta did not get along very well, I must admit. She was the alpha bitch of the pack. Of course I challenged her, I am not a very shy dog, you know. But she gave me a hard time. I did manage to sleep in her bed once, oh sweet victory. But my successes with her were, well, limited.

Anyway, I won’t challenge her now. Not anymore. You cannot challenge totems, in case you didn’t know.

The Dutch dog whisperer

I had a holiday with Nicoline. I’d like to tell you about her. She is a human and a tough cookie, and I don’t mean a doggy snack. She is no lady to tamper with. At first, I thought I could fool her. Like I did with my boss when I was little. Hey, I was a cute puppy, so I took advantage of it! But Nicoline, she saw right through me. She wanted me to behave, from the start.

I stayed with her for three weeks in this holiday, when M was away from home. I didn’t mind, because Nicoline’s place is great fun. There are other dogs, she gave me lots of food because I was so skinny and we went out playing and running and sniffing for hours and hours. We went to the forest and the beach, every day!

This is what it looked like:

Nicoline really is a dog person. She is kind of a Dutch dog whisperer – do you know Cesar Millan? Well, like that, but female and taller. She called me ‘a little princess’ and that was not meant as a compliment. Of course, I tried to ignore her as much as possible. For instance: when we were on the beach and the other dogs had to sit around her, I had something more important to do (eating little crabs).

At the end of the holiday I started listening to her, because she means well and is a nice person. I didn’t obey her too much, though. Priorities, right: crabs are more important than sitting and waiting for some stupid ball to be thrown.

I still see her, when M is too long away from home. I don’t mind listening to Nicoline (now and then), but to my horror she advised M to do a workshop with me. They did – and me too, I couldn’t escape it since it was about me. So now M has become strict with me as well. Which I think is not fair. Because I don’t only behave like a little princess, I am a little princess! Of some ancient Greek line, no doubt about it. That I grew up in a Greek shelter was a huge mistake.
