Nice little morning walk

We had a nice little morning walk, M and I. First we biked to the beach – that is: M on the bike, me running next to it. Since our cargobike is broke, this is our transport now. I think it is a cool bike, so here it is:

We walked to the small beach near the jetty, which is a great place for investigating. It has nice views, too.

Then we went to the big beach, where I did some relaxed running.

And made an effort in digging a huge hole for my brand new squeaky ball.

Then we went back home, M biking and me running. She is working now and I doze in my favorite chair. What a great way to start the day.

No more cargobike

There is some sad news I have to share with you. My cargobike is gone. It was broken beyond repair, M tells me. That is a real shame, because I loved that bike. I especially loved being driven around in it.

My cargobike

I felt like a princess! Now I have to use different sorts of transport. For instance, this:

We drove this one to the beach this morning. Which was nice, of course. The beach is always nice.

We still have a car, my favorite campervan, but M hardly uses that for our everyday transport. Instead we take public transport, like the big thing on the pic above. This means I have to share my vehicle with all kinds of smelly humans and stupid canines I do not even know. That doesn’t suit me. So I am glad we usually bike. That is: M bikes, I run beside her. Which is okay, I like running. But I do miss my cargobike. I hope M and P will buy me a new one. Hey, it is my birthday next month, so I could ask for a new cargobike! Now that is a thought…

Great weekend

I had a great weekend. M and P packed the campervan – again. They just can’t get enough of it, apparently. It is nice to be with humans who like to go on an Adventure so often! This is where we went:

Veluwe5

A campsite inside a national park in the Netherlands. It is a very pretty spot, green and quiet. What is extra special about this park: they have bikes, free to use for visitors. M and P both took a bike and I ran beside them (I’m not very good at cycling, I rather run). That is how we explored the park.

Veluwe3

M tells me I ran about 35 kilometers in this entire weekend. That’s a lot! I liked it, but it was a bit exhausting, too. It is good we stopped often, to relax.

Veluwe4

We explored the great woods in the park….

Veluwe6

We got up very early to see the sun rise above the moorlands.

We even encountered some wildlife. There is a lot of game in this park, I smelled it all around us.

It was a great weekend. Another Adventure!

Anniversary

Today it is exactly two years ago that M and P adopted me. M told me so this morning. Wow, two years already! When they came for me, I was five months old. They took me home in their car. I was pretty impressed by everything, as you can see:

In my new home Zuid was waiting for me, she is the dog of friends of M and P. She stayed with us for a couple of days, to make me feel at home. I had never been without other dogs in my life, growing up in a shelter, so it was sweet of M and P to think of this. Zuid became my godmother:

I grew up quick and I turned into a strong dog, ready to measure forces with anyone.

I became the fastest dog on the beach:

And made some groovy friends:

I had some great Adventures in the last two years. I traveled in a boat, with M and P:

We hiked in Spain and in Austria.

I made sure our campervan was safe.

In bed

I even traveled on a bike in Germany:

M and I did a lot of training, which to be honest can be very tiring:

And we became quite good in doing doga together:

When I came to Holland, I had Ambitions. I am glad to say that in the last two years I started realizing these Ambitions, and have some thrilling Adventures besides. Life is good. I will never stop exploring.

Cargobike special

Look what we found on our walk this week:

Cargobike herring

It is an old fashioned cargobike that is used to transport herring! You know, the absolutely delicious delicacy the Dutch eat – and so do I? This cargobike was parked outside a fish shop (I couldn’t believe we just walked by and M did not buy fish for me, but we did. What a shame).

I think the flowery things are not on the bike when they use it for transporting fish, because that would make no sense. I do know what would be good to transport with the fish: me! I am a ferocious guarding dog, I am especially good at guarding food.  So they can hire me, next time they do a transport! That would be nice. And sensible. They don’t even have to pay me much, just some fish would be fine.

The best beach

Hurray, I am home and the beach is still here! We went there today, I ran next to our cargobike. The path to the beach is nice too, it is lined with lots of smells (rabbits! rabbit shit! foxes!). This is what the path looks like – and me running next to the bike:

Then we take a sharp turn to the right and we park the bike, overlooking the sea. The leash is off and I am off! Off to the beach:

Today it was very quiet, there weren’t a lot of other dogs to play with, alas. But M and P threw ball for me, which was great. I love this beach. I think it is the best beach in the world. What is your favorite beach?

My godmother

Today I’d like you to meet Zuid. She is more than a friend, she is my godmother. When I first came to my new home, Zuid was there. I had never been without other dogs in my life, so M thought it wise to have Zuid along when I arrived. Zuid is living with friends of M and P and they were glad to lend her out for this noble purpose.

She is everything you can wish for in a godmother. She is sweet, she let me jump on her and bite her in the ears and sleep next to her. Like this:

Zuid en Bubbles 2

As you can see, I really appreciated her being there. She made me feel at home pretty quickly. Now that I have grown up, I am not allowed to bite her in the ears anymore, but she is still sweet. She plays and runs with me, although she is having trouble catching up. When she is too far behind I wait for her, so I can jump on her when she arrives. Oh, and in the forest we like to chase pigeons. If it is a very juicy pigeon, she is sometimes almost as fast as I am.

Sometimes we go to the beach together. Since she can’t walk that far from our home, we go by bike. I don’t let many dogs into my cargobike, but Zuid is allowed to (so is Hester and Boet). This is how we travel:

P.S. I am not looking at the camera, because I spotted a pigeon.
