Sorry you haven’t heard from me for a while. I was busy dealing with Chuck. This is Chuck:
In this case he was hiding from me, but I found him pretty quick!
Chuck is my new prey. I really like him, I drag him with me through our house. I am not allowed to take him when we go on a walk, I don’t know why not. Humans can really puzzle me sometimes. Maybe they think some other dog will snatch him away from me? Surely that will not happen, I will guard Chuck ferociously!
Anyway, I like Chuck. Not for eating, he tastes horribly, but I like having him around. He is mine.
We are home again! The holiday was awesome, but I am glad to be in my own house again. Happily everything looks all right here, Boss did a good job guarding my place. Thank you, Boss!
I am happy to be home again, but I am a bit upset too. Because as soon as we arrived in Holland, M drove me to the doctor and they dressed me up in a most peculiar fashion item.
M tells me I have to wear this because of my most recent adventure. On one of our last days in Austria we were hiking in a place with lots of mountain cats. They are big and fat and they make a fantastic noise when they see you approaching. They are great for chasing and there were lots of them! I could not resist the temptation, of course (why should I? Temptations are not meant to resist) so I ran after them. There was one particularly big one waiting for me:
I did not like his look, so I chased him – hard. However he ran into a hole, the coward. I am too big for these holes, so I had to give up chasing. Then, when I returned to M and P, I got attacked by some invisible defence mechanism! I was taken by surprise, I must admit. These mountain cats must be more clever than they look, if they can make that kind of equipment.
I jumped and managed to get rid of this mechanism, but I did hurt my leg. And that is why I have to wear this odd looking item now, M tells me. When my leg is healed, they will take it off. I hope it will heal soon. I feel a bit awkward with this thing around my head.
We are not on holiday yet, but M told me we will leave soon. I am thrilled! I was a bit worried, however, too. Because when I am gone, who will guard our house? M told me they rented the place, so other humans will stay in our house. They have no dog, she assured me, but I buried my bone in the garden when M wasn’t looking. Just to be sure.
There are humans staying in our house, but will they be capable of guarding the house in a way that is sufficient? I doubt it. So I found a solution to that problem: I asked my good friend Boss to keep an eye on it in my absence. He said he would be delighted to do so. He truly is a great friend.
So when you are a burglar and you are reading this: please feel free to try breaking into our house. You will give Boss a good time. By the way, this is what he looks like:
Imagine that piece of wood in his mouth being your arm or leg? Right. Happy guarding, Boss!
Uh-oh. This is what I just saw in our house. My humans are packing, big time!
This can mean only one thing: we are going to have a Big Adventure. I think we are going on a holiday! And I am sure I am coming with M and P, because they are packing my stuff, too. I saw my food and mountain walking gear amidst these things! Oh yeah.
I am very excited about this. I like going on an Adventure, especially with M and P. I will smell new things, meet other dogs and hopefully some foxes too! I will taste new things, like…. sea food I haven’t tasted before. Squid? Lobster? That would be nice. Oh, I can’t wait, I hope we will go soon! And I hope we will see the mountains again, I love mountains!
Of course I will let you know all about my Adventures. Just don’t count on a picture of a juicy squid, I’ll gobble it before I can take a selfie-with-squid.
I am feeling very lazy today. I spend a couple of hours sleeping in the sun, then I moved to my favorite chair at the front of the house. That is where I am now. When I got bored, I started practicing selfies. What do you think of this one? No ears!
Today I had a visitor. Some of my readers may think ‘so what?’. But to me it is a special occasion, because I seldom have visitors. Canine visitors, that is. The reason for this is simple: I do not allow any other dog into my house. I like other dogs, I have a lot of friends, but we meet outside on neutral terrain. When a dog tries to enter my house, I chase him away. I don’t want canine visitors on my territory.
Today, however, was different. First: It was my personal trainer who entered my house and she is no lady to tamper with. As I wrote before, she is a tough cookie. Second: She did not come alone, she brought a dog with her. And not just any dog, but my great friend Boss. Boss is totally cool, I really like to play with him… but I did have serious doubts when he came into my house. I go to his house a lot, but that is different. He likes to share, especially with beautiful female dogs like me. But my own house I prefer to keep private, I like it that way.
So I was in great doubt. My first reaction (which is always the best, as I explained earlier: decide fast, act fast) was to jump on Boss and bite him. I don’t care that he is a big mean German shepherd dog, I would fight him anyway. But then I thought this might not be a good idea with my personal trainer so near. And than I smelled, just in time, the great doggy treats she had with her. That is when I decided to behave like a nice dog, welcoming Boss into my house. As a result we both got a yummy doggy treat.
There is a risk now, however, that some of my readers will get me wrong on this. I want to make very clear that it was a very rare occasion and an exception that I welcomed Boss into my house . I by no means intend to do it again, not with Boss or any other dog. This is still my house and mine only. So to end all possible misunderstandings right now: do not come and visit. Let’s have fun on neutral terrain.
Did I mention I like watching kitchen? It is like watching television, but much, much nicer. There are wonderful smells and the anticipation of something delicious that might me mine. P was very busy in the kitchen and I sat watching him – from a polite distance of course. I wouldn’t dare to come too close! I could be expelled from the kitchen if I did.
He was making pizza. My favorite dish! When it was fi-na-lly done, it looked like this:
Delicious! Some of it was for me, you know. Actually, a big part of it. Yessss. I am a happy dog.
